Administration & Infusion rate

Spinal anaesthesia for surgery

2 – 4 ml injected into interspace Postoperative analgesia

Intermittent epidural: Infuse 4 – 8 ml at rate of 1 – 2 ml/hr

Continuous epidural: Dilute Pivakan 0.5% Plain to 0.125% and infuse at rate of 15 ml/hr Analgesia in labour

6 – 12 ml for moderate or complete block
